Whitelee Windfarm

Just a few miles from Kilmarnock you will find Europe's largest windfarm - Whitelee Windfarm.  Here are some photos.

We DID make windmills!

We used yellow paper and drew patterns on our windmills!

Other Children with their Windmills

All children enjoyed themselves doing their paper windmills! Why don't you try doing your own paper windmills too? Will they be the same as ours?

Other Windmills

I am a Windmill byJade

I am a windmill and I come from Holland. I was built in 1890 in the 19th century on a sunny day. One builder built me. I am 70 feet tall. I am in the middle of a large field. Each year visitors come to see me and learn how I work. They take photos of me and so I am very popular. I show people the wind’s speed. The paint on me is grey and white. The builder’s name is Anthony. It took him two years to build me. Now I am over one hundred years old.

I am a windmill. I go round with the wind. I look like a big flower. On a very windy day I go round very fast. This makes me very tired. Farmers use me to pump up water from wells to water their vegetables.

I am a windmill and I am like an anemometer. The windmill blows and I go round and round with the wind. In Holland there are real windmills and they are bigger than me. There are many colours on me. As a windmill I go round in the direction of the wind.
